Arcane Mage Talents
Talents in World of Warcraft define your character's gameplay. They offer active abilities for offense and defense, major cooldowns, or passive enhancements to your stats and spells. Here are the current Arcane Mage talents for The War Within Season 1.

Class Talents
Class talents represent a common tree shared across all Mage specializations. These talents provide foundational skills and enhancements essential to the Mage class, offering a range of abilities that lay the groundwork for a Mage's overall capabilities.

Instant - 4 Min Cooldown | Encases you in a block of ice, protecting you from all attacks and damage for 10 sec, but during that time you cannot attack, move, or cast spells. Causes Hypothermia, preventing you from recasting Ice Block for 30 sec. |
Overflowing Energy
|
Passive | Your spell critical strike damage is increased by 10%. When your direct damage spells fail to critically strike a target, your spell critical strike chance is increased by 2%, up to 10% for 8 sec. When your spells critically strike Overflowing Energy is reset. |
Incanter's Flow
|
Passive | Magical energy flows through you while in combat, building up to 10% increased damage and then diminishing down to 2% increased damage, cycling every 10 sec. |
Winter's Protection
|
Passive | The cooldown of Ice Block is reduced by 60 sec. |
Spellsteal
|
Instant - 40 Yd Range | Steals a beneficial magic effect from the target. This effect lasts a maximum of 2 min. |
Tempest Barrier
|
Passive | Gain a shield that absorbs 6% of your maximum health for 15 sec after you Blink. |
Incantation of Swiftness
|
Passive | Invisibility increases your movement speed by 80% for 6 sec. |
Remove Curse
|
Instant - 40 Yd Range - 8 Sec Cooldown | Removes all Curses from a friendly target. |
Arcane Warding
|
Passive | Reduces magic damage taken by 4%. |
Mirror Image
|
Instant - 2 Min Cooldown | Creates 3 copies of you nearby for 40 sec, which cast spells and attack your enemies. While your images are active damage taken is reduced by 20%. Taking direct damage will cause one of your images to dissipate. |
Shifting Power
|
Channeled - 1 Min Cooldown | Draw power from within, dealing 13,748 Arcane damage over 3.6 sec to enemies within 18 yds. While channeling, your Mage ability cooldowns are reduced by 12 sec over 3.6 sec. |
Alter Time
|
Instant - 1 Min Cooldown | Alters the fabric of time, returning you to your current location and health when cast a second time, or after 10 sec. Effect negated by long distance or death. |
Cryo-Freeze
|
Passive | While inside Ice Block, you heal for 50% of your maximum health over the duration. |
Reduplication
|
Passive | Mirror Image's cooldown is reduced by 10 sec whenever a Mirror Image dissipates due to direct damage. |
Reabsorption
|
Passive | You are healed for 3% of your maximum health whenever a Mirror Image dissipates due to direct damage. |
Quick Witted
|
Passive | Successfully interrupting an enemy with Counterspell reduces its cooldown by 4 sec. |
Mass Polymorph
|
1.7 Sec Cast - 1 Min Cooldown | Transforms all enemies within 10 yards into sheep, wandering around incapacitated for 15 sec. While affected, the victims cannot take actions but will regenerate health very quickly. Damage will cancel the effect. Only works on Beasts, Humanoids and Critters. |
Slow
|
Instant - 35 Yd Range | Reduces the target's movement speed by 50% for 15 sec. |
Master of Time
|
Passive | Reduces the cooldown of Alter Time by 10 sec. Alter Time resets the cooldown of Blink and Shimmer when you return to your original location. |
Diverted Energy
|
Passive | Your Barriers heal you for 40% of the damage absorbed. |
Ring of Frost
|
2 Sec Cast - 30 Yd Range - 45 Sec Cooldown | Summons a Ring of Frost for 10 sec at the target location. Enemies entering the ring are incapacitated for 10 sec. Limit 10 targets. When the incapacitate expires, enemies are slowed by 65% for 4 sec. |
Ice Nova
|
Instant - 40 Yd Range - 25 Sec Cooldown | Causes a whirl of icy wind around the enemy, dealing 7,633 Frost damage to the target and all other enemies within 8 yds, freezing them in place for 2 sec. Damage reduced beyond 8 targets. |
Shimmer
|
Instant - 0.5 Sec Cooldown | Teleports you 20 yds forward, unless something is in the way. Unaffected by the global cooldown and castable while casting. |
Ice Floes
|
Instant | Makes your next Mage spell with a cast time shorter than 10 sec castable while moving. Unaffected by the global cooldown and castable while casting. |
Blast Wave
|
Instant - 30 Sec Cooldown | Causes an explosion around yourself, dealing 3,016 Fire damage to all enemies within 8 yds, knocking them back, and reducing movement speed by 70% for 6 sec. |
Improved Frost Nova
|
Passive | Frost Nova duration is increased by 2 sec. |
Rigid Ice
|
Passive | Frost Nova can withstand 80% more damage before breaking. |

Passive | Increases Critical Strike chance by 2%. |
Dragon's Breath
|
Instant - 45 Sec Cooldown | Enemies in a cone in front of you take 3,619 Fire damage and are disoriented for 4 sec. Damage will cancel the effect. |
Supernova
|
Instant - 40 Yd Range - 45 Sec Cooldown | Pulses arcane energy around the target enemy or ally, dealing 2,235 Arcane damage to all enemies within 8 yds, and knocking them upward. A primary enemy target will take 100% increased damage. |
Tome of Antonidas

Passive | Increases Haste by 2%. |
Volatile Detonation
|
Passive | Greatly increases the effect of Blast Wave's knockback. Blast Wave's cooldown is reduced by 5 sec |
Energized Barriers
|
Passive | When your barrier receives melee attacks, you have a 10% chance to be granted Clearcasting. Casting your barrier removes all snare effects. |
Frigid Winds
|
Passive | All of your snare effects reduce the target's movement speed by an additional 10%. |
Flow of Time
|
Passive | The cooldowns of Blink and Shimmer are reduced by 4 sec. |
Temporal Velocity
|
Passive | Increases your movement speed by 20% for 3 sec after casting Blink and 40% for 6 sec after returning from Alter Time. |
Ice Ward
|
Passive | Frost Nova now has 2 charges. |
Freezing Cold
|
Passive | Enemies hit by Cone of Cold are frozen in place for 5 sec instead of snared. When your roots expire or are dispelled, your target is snared by 80%, decaying over 3 sec. |
Time Manipulation
|
Passive | Casting Clearcasting Arcane Missiles reduces the cooldown of your loss of control abilities by 2 sec. |
Displacement
|
Instant - 40 Yd Range - 45 Sec Cooldown | Teleports you back to where you last Blinked and heals you for 39,468 health. Only usable within 8 sec of Blinking. |
Accumulative Shielding
|
Passive | Your barrier's cooldown recharges 30% faster while the shield persists. |
Greater Invisibility
|
Instant - 2 Min Cooldown | Makes you invisible and untargetable for 20 sec, removing all threat. Any action taken cancels this effect. You take 60% reduced damage while invisible and for 3 sec after reappearing. |
Barrier Diffusion
|
Passive - 100 Yd Range | Whenever one of your Barriers is removed, reduce its cooldown by 4 sec. |
Ice Cold
|
Passive | Ice Block now reduces all damage taken by 70% for 6 sec but no longer grants Immunity, prevents movement, attacks, or casting spells. Does not incur the Global Cooldown. |
Time Anomaly
|
Passive | At any moment, you have a chance to gain Arcane Surge for 4 sec, Clearcasting, or Time Warp for 6 sec. |
Inspired Intellect
|
Passive | Arcane Intellect grants you an additional 3% Intellect. |
Mass Invisibility
|
Instant - 5 Min Cooldown | You and your allies within 40 yards instantly become invisible for 12 sec. Taking any action will cancel the effect. Does not affect allies in combat. |
Mass Barrier
|
Instant - 3 Min Cooldown | Cast Prismatic Barrier on yourself and 4 allies within 40 yds. |
Specialization Talents
Specialization talents provide Arcane Mages with unique abilities and enhancements tailored to their combat style. These talents differentiate Arcane Mages from other Mage specializations, maximizing effectiveness in combat.

Passive | Arcane Missiles channels 20% faster. Clearcasting makes Arcane Explosion echo for 40% damage. |
Aethervision
|
Passive | Consuming Nether Precision with Arcane Blast increases the damage of your next Arcane Barrage by 10% and causes it to generate 2 Arcane Charges. Stacks up to 2 times. |
Arcing Cleave
|
Passive | For each Arcane Charge, Arcane Barrage hits 1 additional nearby target for 40% damage. |
Arcane Familiar
|
Passive | Casting Arcane Intellect summons a Familiar that attacks your enemies and increases your maximum mana by 10% for 1 hour. |
Arcane Surge
|
2.5 Sec Cast - 40 Yd Range - 1.5 Min Cooldown | Expend all of your current mana to annihilate your enemy target and nearby enemies for up to 28,319 Arcane damage based on Mana spent. Deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets. Generates Clearcasting. For the next 15 sec, your Mana regeneration is increased by 425% and spell damage is increased by 35%. |

Surging Urge

Passive | Arcane Surge damage increased by 5% per Arcane Charge. |
Slipstream
|
Passive | Arcane Missiles can now be channeled while moving. Evocation can be channeled while moving. |
Consortium's Bauble
|
Passive | Reduces Arcane Blast's mana cost by 5% and increases its damage by 8%. |
Resonance
|
Passive | Arcane Barrage deals 10% increased damage per target it hits. |
Impetus
|
Passive | Arcane Blast has a 10% chance to generate an additional Arcane Charge. If you were to gain an Arcane Charge while at maximum charges instead gain 10% Arcane damage for 10 sec. |
Touch of the Magi
|
Instant - 40 Yd Range - 45 Sec Cooldown | Applies Touch of the Magi to your current target, accumulating 20% of the damage you deal to the target for 12 sec, and then exploding for that amount of Arcane damage to the target and reduced damage to all nearby enemies. enerates 4 Arcane Charges. |
Dematerialize

Passive | Spells empowered by Nether Precision cause their target to suffer an additional 8% of the damage dealt over 6 sec. |
Static Cloud
|
Passive | Each time you cast Arcane Explosion, its damage increases by 25%. Bonus resets after reaching 100% damage. |
Illuminated Thoughts

Passive | Clearcasting has a 5% increased chance to proc. |
Evocation
|
Channeled | Increases your mana regeneration by 1,500% for 2.7 sec and grants Clearcasting. While channeling Evocation, your Intellect is increased by 2% every 0.5 sec. Lasts 20 sec. |
Improved Touch of the Magi

Passive | Your Touch of the Magi now accumulates 25% of the damage you deal. |
Eureka
|
Passive | When a spell consumes Clearcasting, its damage is increased by 10%. |
Energy Reconstitution
|
Passive | Damage from Dematerialize has a small chance to summon an Arcane Explosion at its target's location at 50% effectiveness. Arcane Explosions summoned from Energy Reconstitution do not generate Arcane Charges. |
Reverberate
|
Passive | If Arcane Explosion hits at least 3 targets, it has a 50% chance to generate an extra Arcane Charge. |
Arcane Debilitation
|
Passive | Damaging a target with Arcane Missiles increases the damage they take from Arcane Missiles, Arcane Barrage, and Arcane Blast by 1.0% for 6 sec. Multiple instances may overlap. |
Arcane Echo
|
Passive | Direct damage you deal to enemies affected by Touch of the Magi, causes an explosion that deals 658 Arcane damage to all nearby enemies. Deals reduced damage beyond 8 targets. |
Prodigious Savant
|
Passive | Arcane Charges further increase Mastery effectiveness of Arcane Blast and Arcane Barrage by 40%. |
Time Loop
|
Passive | Arcane Debilitation's duration is increased by 2 sec. When you apply a stack of Arcane Debilitation, you have a 25% chance to apply another stack of Arcane Debilitation. This effect can trigger off of itself. |
Aether Attunement
|
Passive | Every 3 times you consume Clearcasting, gain Aether Attunement. ether Attunement: Your next Arcane Missiles deals 100% increased damage to your primary target and fires at up to 4 nearby enemies dealing 50% increased damage. |
Enlightened
|
Passive | Arcane damage dealt while above 70% mana is increased by 6%, Mana Regen while below 70% is increased by 20%. |
Arcane Bombardment

|
Passive | Nether Precision damage bonus increased to 30%. |
Concentration

High Voltage

Arcane Harmony

Passive | Each time Arcane Missiles hits an enemy, the damage of your next Arcane Barrage is increased by 5%. This effect stacks up to 20 times. |
Magi's Spark
|
Passive | Your Touch of the Magi now also conjures a spark, causing the damage from your next Arcane Barrage, Arcane Blast, and Arcane Missiles to echo for 100% of their damage. Upon receiving damage from all three spells, the spark explodes, dealing 22,287 Arcane damage to all nearby enemies. |

Unerring Proficiency

Shifting Shards

Passive | Shifting Power fires a barrage of 8 Arcane Splinters at random enemies within 40 yds over its duration. |
Signature Spell

Passive | When your Magi's Spark explodes, you conjure 6 Arcane Splinters. |
Force of Will
|

Spellfrost Teachings

Passive | Direct damage from Arcane Splinters has a small chance to launch an Arcane Orb at 50% effectiveness and increase all damage dealt by Arcane Orb by 10% for 10 sec. |
Splinterstorm
|
Passive | Whenever you have 8 or more active Embedded Arcane Splinters, you automatically cast a Splinterstorm at your target. plinterstorm: Shatter all Embedded Arcane Splinters, dealing their remaining periodic damage instantly. Conjure an Arcane Splinter for each Splinter shattered, then unleash them all in a devastating barrage, dealing 1,890 Arcane damage to your target for each Splinter in the Splinterstorm. Splinterstorm has a 5% chance to grant Clearcasting. |
PvP Talents
PvP talents are tailored for player-versus-player combat scenarios. Activated in arenas, battlegrounds, and the open world with War Mode enabled, these talents optimize a Arcane Mage 's performance in PvP encounters. Conjures an Ice Wall 30 yards long that obstructs line of sight. The wall has 40% of your maximum health and lasts up to 15 sec. | |
Ring of Fire

Master Shepherd
|
While an enemy player is affected by your Polymorph or Mass Polymorph, your movement speed is increased by 25% and your Versatility is increased by 12%. Additionally, Polymorph and Mass Polymorph no longer heal enemies. | |
Ethereal Blink
|
Blink and Shimmer apply Slow at 100% effectiveness to all enemies you Blink through. For each enemy you Blink through, the cooldown of Blink and Shimmer are reduced by 1 sec, up to 5 sec. | |
Chrono Shift
